Chinese New Year is also called Spring Festival in China.
The Spring Festival is the most important and ceremonious traditional festival in China. Spring Festival is the lunar New Year. Spring Festival also is a family reunion for Chinese. The Spring Festival is called Guo Nian. Nian was a terrible animal in the legend. It lived on the seafloor. It came out from the seafloor and ate livestock and harmed people on lunar New Year’s Eve. But the Nian fear of the red color, fire and loud explosions. So people paste red couplets on the door and set off firecrackers to scare the Nian away.
